Suffering from heartburn? You can prevent it from eating slowly.

Research suggests that if sufferers eat slowly they may reduce or eliminate this problem. Researchers from the Medical University of South Carolina measured gastroesophageal reflux on 20 healthy volunteers who taken a chicken sandwich and soft drink in five minutes one day. Another day, they took 30 minutes to eat the same meal and it was showed that the number of reflux episodes has lowered by 40 percent.

A gastroenterologist and study co-author Radu Tutuian said that the stomach naturally expands to take in food as you eat. But if you eat too fast, your stomach will stretch too fast with gastroesophageal reflux. However, he is still not sure that eating too fast will cause chronic heartburn.

Hi...this are diabetes risk factors as I promise in the last entry...Do you have the risk factors below?
Family members with diabetes. obesity, older than 45 years, high blood pressure, high level of triglyserides, high blood cholesterol level and insufficient exercise??? If you have...beware!!! Treating diabetes. Type 1, people Type 1 diabetes require insulin replacement therapy. There are 4 types of insulin preparations, namely ultra-short acting, short acting, intermediate acting or long acting. Each day, a combination of these insulin preparations are given, depending on the prescribed regimen. Type 2, if you have been recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, you may need to consume a balanced diet which spreads carbohydrate, and exercise regularly to treats your diabetes. If both measures are not keeping your blood sugar of a normal level, your doctor may prescribe one or more oral medications. These medications: Decreased the tissues resistance to insulin, stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin, slows down the absorption of carbohydrates to control blood sugar levels. When this fails, insulin injection are required to keep blood sugar levels under control.

ADVANTAGES OF EATING RAW

The human race learned long ago that cooking meat before eating it would protect them from certain diseases. Since then this practice of cooking has grown to include all types of foods and is now considered an art.

One advantage of eating raw is that it brings Nature’s intentions into focus. When I speak of eating raw I am referring to fruit, nuts, and vegetables, which taste good to the majority of humankind in their basic simplicity direct from tree, bush or vine.

Raw foods are better quality, therefore you eat less to satisfy your nutritional needs. The heat of cooking depletes vitamins, damages proteins and fats, and destroys enzymes which benefit digestion. As your percentage of raw foods increases you feel satisfied and have more energy on smaller meals because raw food has the best balance of water, nutrients, and fiber to meet your body’s needs.

Raw foods have more flavor than cooked foods so there is no need to add salt, sugar, spices, or other condiments that can irritate your digestion system or over stimulate other organs.

Raw foods also take very little preparation so you spend less time in the kitchen.Futhermore when you are eating raw there’s little chance of burns, unless you’re in the middle of a forest fire or out in the sun too long.

A raw food diet can protect you from acute diseases such as colds, flu, measles, etc. Raw foods maintain a healthy body and a healthy body will not become diseased.

8. As long as you combine raw food properly according to the rules of Natural Hygiene, you will soon reach a level where you no longer suffer from heartburn, gas, indigestion or constipation.

9. It is environmentally sound. With humanity on a diet of raw foods, the food industry would close up shop and take up organic gardening. This would save us enormous amounts of natural resources used to produce power for these industries. Nuclear power would be clearly unnecessary. And think of how many trees and oil reserves could be saved without the need for the paper and plastics used in packaging our processed foods. There would also be less carbon dioxide released in to the atmosphere when all the cooking stopped and more oxygen produced from all the new orchards and gardens, thus helping to reverse the Greenhouse Effect.

So don’t waste your food, yourself, and our planet by cooking what you eat. Fruits, nuts, and vegetables which are whole, fresh and raw are brimming with life and have the ability to transmit their life force directly to you.

Here are three little anecdotes that I'd like to share with you. They concern three sisters: Arom, Aporn, and Arpa.
You'll get used to it.
One day, Arom went to see a fortune-teller who told her that she would encounter many difficulties over the following five years.
"Will my situation got better after that?" she asked.
"No, but you'll get used to it," answered the fortune-teller.
It's we who put our ears under this wooden shoes
Aporn attended a religious ceremony at a friend's house. It was presided over by a meditation master named Luang Pu Boodda, a very old man. Afterward, while the monk was taking a rest prior to returning to his temple in Sing Buri, loud noises were heard coming from the shop house next door; a man wearing Chinese-style clogs was walking up the stairs. Irritated, Aporn complained to a friend of hers: "Why does he have to make so much noise?"
Although he had his eyes closed, Luang Pu Boodda was still totally aware of everything going on around him. "He's just walking. It's we who put our ears under this wooden shoes," the monk gently cautioned.
Dealing with the treacherous section of path
The third story goes back to the time when the three siblings were children.
One day, their mother sent Arom to the shop to buy some fish sauce. On the way back, she tripped and lost her grip on the bottle. "Too bad! I spilled half the fish sauce," she told her mother regretfully.
A week later, Aport was sent to buy a bottle of cooking oil. She tripped and spilled half of it. Despite the loss she was in an upbeat mood when she reported back to her mother: "Luckily, I was able to catch it before it broke so we still have a bottle left."
A few weeks later, it was Arpa's turn to go to the shop. She bought a bottle of vinegar but tripped on the way home with it. This is what she told her mother: "I was lucky, Mum, we still have half a bottle left. And I promise to be more careful next time."
Then Arpa took it upon herself to go back and repair the treacherous section of path. She dug out the protruding rocks and filled in the pot holes to prevent anybody else tripping over.
The Lessons
Taken together, the trio of anecdotes tells us how to cope with problems, how to turn the negative into the positive.

assalamualaikum and hye to all...today, i want to post about the KOMODO DRAGON...

The Komodo dragon is the world's heaviest lizard, weighing 150 pounds or more...it has gray scaly skin, a pointed snout, powerful limbs and a muscular tail...it lives in the scrub and woodland of a few Indonesian islands...they use their keen sense of smell to locate decaying animal remains from several miles away...they also hunt other lizards as well as large mammals and are sometimes cannibalistic...this species is threatened by hunting, loss of prey species and habitat loss...

The Komodo dragon is the largest and deadliest lizard in the world...this dinosaur-like predator can grow up to 10 feet in length and weigh close to 200 pounds...male dragons fight like sumo wrestlers, rising up on their hind limbs and tail and using their weight to knock the other off balance...these encounters often end in injury or death...

if you want to know more about this species, wait for my last post for this February..happy reading!!!

Assalamualaikum~
I am falling… fallen from reaching for the star. Now that I am here, the limbo of being, it is uncomfortable, insecure and overly self conscientious. My mind has been channeled to the realms of this dream again. The last episode, it was a total abstinence from reasoning with the mind. Now, I find myself crossing a bridge that separates the sea from this earth. Although, I should not be afraid of appearing stupid, because I am… stupid, that is. heh. I was surprised yet again how easy it is to subscribe to the quasi-illusion of never being alone. Is this how it is supposed to feel like? I find that I question my observations and analysis more than before… Was something incinerated inside of me from this passion of doubt and second guessing the features? The only thing more mysterious than Fate is Affinity. Affinity to thus is Fated. Fate may be in your hands, but Affinity to someone is undeniable yet unexplainable.

Hi...This week we have to do many things.Everybody have through tough time.As student, stress is very closest to us.But we have to make our stress minimum level because if stress overload, people will lose consideration. What signs of stress overload? The answer are:

• anxiety or panic attacks
• a feeling of being constantly pressured, hassled, and hurried
• irritability and moodiness
• physical symptoms, such as stomach problems, headaches, or even chest pain
• allergic reactions, such as eczema or asthma
• problems sleeping
• drinking too much, smoking, overeating, or doing drugs
• sadness or depression

Everyone experiences stress a little differently. Some people become angry and act out their stress or take it out on others. Some people internalize it and develop eating disorders or substance abuse problems. And some people who have a chronic illness may find that the symptoms of their illness flare up under an overload of stress.

IT'S time that the subject of corruption in Malaysia is addressed more seriously. It is a cancer that must be rooted out without any compromise whatsoever. The setting up of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is a first step in the right direction.

However, there must be the political will to give the MACC the necessary authority and powers to be able to investigate any person or organisation in the country, regardless of influence, wealth, connections or political affiliation and without hindrance or interference.

AFP news agency reported recently that a Chinese court has sentenced the former chairman and general manager of China's Capital Airports Holding Company (which controls 30 airports in the country) to death for bribery and embezzlement involving about US$15 million (RM55 million). The death penalty may seem extreme, but it is an indication of how determined the government is to fight bribery and corruption in China.

To provide more ammunition in the fight against corruption, I would suggest that Malaysia consider implementing a localised version of America's Rico Act (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act). In the US, the law covers any act of bribery, theft, embezzlement, fraud, drug trafficking and bringing in, aiding and assisting aliens in illegally entering the country (these are crimes that are also prevalent in Malaysia).

Do you like junk food?
Do you addicted to junk food?
Do you know what are the harmful effects of junk food?
-Lack of energy: junk foods don't provide you with essential nutrients, even though they can be very much sufficing, you feel weakened.
-Poor concentration: When you have a sumptuous junk meal rich in oil you feel drowsy and fail to concentrate. Over sustained periods of junk food eating, blood circulation drops due to fat accumulation. Lack of vital oxygen, nutrients and proteins particularly can stale your brain cells temporarily.
-Heart Diseases: Myocardial infarction (a sever heart failure) is due to plaque formation in arteries which demands heart to put in extra effort to pump blood on the down stream. On the up stream, there is lack of returning blood to heart. This causes two damages to heart - heart fatigues by the continuous extra effort it makes and it suffers oxygen supply.
-High Cholesterol: Apart from forming plaques and constricting arteries, cholesterol also affects liver where it is metabolized. High cholesterol from junk food and diet strains liver damaging it eventually. This is a long term effect.
So,for whom that addicted to junk food so much, you should beware.

Halo. In this entry, I want to write about a song. It wasn't my favourite song, but I like the music. I used song for my movie maker last few weeks. This song is called, I remember, by Mocca, an Indonesia band. This song was actually a OST for "Catatan Akhir Sekolah". I never watch the movie, but I hope I can watch them soon.
I used this song for my movie maker because it related with my topic. It tells about me since I was 3 until now, here at University Malaysia Pahang. So, the memories reflect through this song. Miss Sara also give a good comment on this song and I think she like it.
Here, I write lyric of Mocca song. I hope you'll like it.

I remember...
The way you glanced at me,
yes I remember
I remember...
When we caught a shooting star, yes I remember
I remember..
All the things that we shared,
and the promise we made,
just you and I
I remember...
All the laughter we shared,
all the wishes we made,
upon the roof at dawn

Do you remember..?
When we were dancing in the rain in that December
And I remember..
When my father thought you were a burglar
I remember..
All the things that we shared,
and the promise we made,
just you and I
I remember..
All the laughter we shared,
all the wishes we made,
upon the roof at dawn

I remember..
The way you read your books,
yes I remember
The way you tied your shoes,
yes I remember
The cake you loved the most,
yes I remember
The way you drank you coffee,
I remember
The way you glanced at me,
yes I remember
When we caught a shooting star,
yes I remember
When we were dancing in the rain in that December
And the way you smile at me,
yes I remember

Do you guys like rain??
For me, I like it. I don't know why but I like it..What do you know about rain?? In this post I want to share with all of you about rain..
Rain is liquid precipitation. On Earth, it is the condensation of atmospheric water vapor into drops heavy enough to fall, often making it to the surface. Rain is the primary source of fresh water for most areas of the world, providing suitable conditions for diverse ecosystems, as well as water for hydroelectric power plants and crop irrigation. However, not all rain reaches the surface; some evaporates while falling through dry air. This is called virga, a phenomenon often seen in hot, dry desert regions.
Rain plays a role in the hydrologic cycle in which moisture from the oceans evaporates, condenses into drops, precipitates (falls) from the sky, and eventually returns to the ocean via rivers and streams to repeat the cycle again. The water vapor from plant respiration also contributes to the moisture in the atmosphere.A major scientific explanation of how rain forms and falls is called the Bergeron process. More recent research points to the influence of Cloud condensation nuclei released as the result of biological processes.
The fine particulate matter produced by car exhaust and other human sources of pollution forms cloud condensation nuclei, leads to the production of clouds and increases the likelihood of rain. As commuters and commercial traffic cause pollution to build up over the course of the week, the likelihood of rain increases: it peaks by Saturday, after five days of weekday pollution has been built up. In heavily populated areas that are near the coast, such as the United States' Eastern Seaboard, the effect can be dramatic: there is a 22% higher chance of rain on Saturdays than on Mondays.

Hi,.let we continue about flower from the last entry. Additional discussions on floral modifications from the basic plan are presented in the articles on each of the basic parts of the flower. In those species that have more than one flower on an axis—so-called composite flowers—the collection of flowers is termed an inflorescence; this term can also refer to the specific arrangements of flowers on a stem. In this regard, care must be exercised in considering what a ‘‘flower’’ is. In botanical terminology, a single daisy or sunflower for example, is not a flower but a flower head—an inflorescence composed of numerous tiny flowers (sometimes called florets). Each of these flowers may be anatomically as described above. Many flowers have a symmetry, if the perianth is bisected through the central axis from any point, symmetrical halves are produced—the flower is called regular or actinomorphic, e.g. rose or trillium. When flowers are bisected and produce only one line that produces symmetrical halves the flower is said to be irregular or zygomorphic. e.g. snapdragon or most orchids.

Today, I would like to share some memories when I went to Korea for the first time in 1999. It was early spring on that day, and my mum, brother and I went there for the first time. My father had to stay in Malaysia due to his work. We felt really bad leaving him, but since we have no other choice, we departed. It took several hours the plane and we reached there. When we arrived at the airport, I saw my granny waving at us. We quickly ran towards her and hugged tight, since it has been such a long time we met granny. We took a walk along the road and I saw so many shops on my left and right. It was so packed and lively. My eyes opened wide when I saw so many cute accessories that I've never seen in Malaysia.

Even though it was early spring, the cold air struck my nose while breathing and it is hard to talk properly. If this is spring, I wonder how they survive during winter!! My granny quickly brought us back to her home and warmed ourselves up. We ate many Korean dishes and shopping spree is a heaven to us.

We went to Lotte World the next week, which is an amusement park like Disney's Wonderland. It was so fun, even though a ticket costs about RM150 at that time, we are allowed to take a full-course of all rides as many as we want for the whole day. We spent the whole day at Lotte World and it was the first time I've been so excited in my life. About a following week later, we went to visit my aunt's family. On the way walking and taking underground subways, me and my brother were squealing all of a sudden. When my mother looked at us, snow fell from the sky. We were jumping to catch the snow, but it was a futile attempt. My granny was laughing as well while looking at our childish behaviour.

Telling the whole experience in Korea might take a long time, but so far, I have written a part of it. It's too bad I didn't get to attend the cherry blossoms watching festival on that month, because we have to go back to Malaysia. My father contacted us, saying that he missed us, since a while month is too long. even though we went to Korea again, but the memories of going there for the first time lasts the most.

For this entry I would like to continue my story about vegetable & anti-cancer. For this entry I would like to share about papaya.

How it combats cancer:its plentiful store of vitaman C works as an antioxidant and may also reduce absorption of cancer-causing nitrosamines from the soil or processed foods. Papaya contain folacin (also known as folic acid), which has been shown to minimize cervical ysplasia and certain cancers.

Diet tips: Choose papayas that are at least half yellow in the store- fully green ones were probably picked too soon and won't ripen properly. You can serve papaya in fruit salad, add it to a garlic-and-spinach pasta mixture, or just eat it on its own, letting the juice dribble down your arm.

HELLO...now i want talk about health.Drinking Raises Cancer Risk for Middle-Age Women...Research involving more than a million middle-age women finds that even moderate drinking raises risks for breast, liver and other cancers. In fact, the study found that moderate drinking accounts for 13 percent of breast, liver, rectum and upper respiratory/digestive tract cancers among women. The association between moderate alcohol intake and breast cancer in women is well-known, the researchers point out. What's new here, they say, is the finding that even low levels of drinking can raise a woman's risk of developing cancer of the liver and rectum. For women who smoke, cancers of the mouth and throat were also linked to high alcohol consumption. Most women in the study had about a drink a day, and a smaller percentage had three or more drinks a day, the researchers found. Over more than seven years of follow-up, 68,775 women developed cancer.Overall, the risk of cancer increased as alcohol consumption increased. The type of alcohol consumed appeared to make no difference.Women who drank and also smoked faced increased risk of cancers of the oral cavity and pharynx, esophagus, and larynx (voice box), the researchers found. So People who are not drinkers should not start drinking to prevent heart disease, and even people who are drinking should discuss this with their physicians becouse it can more effect in our body...So avoid drinking and smoke for who want healthy....

Pink is a pale red color; the use of the word for the color was first recorded in the late 17th century, describing the flowers of pinks, flowering plants in the genus Dianthus. Pink itself is a combination of red and white. Other tints of pink may be combinations of rose and white, magenta and white, or orange and white.Roseus is a Latin word meaning "rosy" or "pink." Lucretius used the word to describe the dawn in his epic poem On the Nature of Things (De Rerum Natura). The word is also used in the binomial names of several species, such as the Rosy Starling (Sturnus roseus) and Catharanthus roseus. In the 17th century, however, the word pink was also used to describe a greenish or yellowish color. Thomas Jenner's A Book of Drawing, Limning, Washing (1652) categorizes "Pink & blew bice" amongst the greens, and specifies several admixtures of greenish colors made with pink -- e.g. "Grasse-green is made of Pink and Bice, it is shadowed with Indico and Pink ... French-green of Pink and Indico [shadowed with] Indico" . In William Salmon's Polygraphice (1673), "Pink yellow" is mentioned amongst the chief yellow pigments (p.96), and the reader is instructed to mix it with either Saffron or Ceruse for "sad" or "light" shades thereof, respectively.

GAMAT
I want told you more bout gamat. In Malay, gamat we are call it sea cucumber, refers to medicinal remedies derived from several species of the Holothuroidea family. The golden sea cucumber or Stichopus horrens as a scientific name is commonly used. It is usually the dried, powdered bodies of sea cucumbers made into a lotion or other topical salve. Sometimes we are mixed into clay and applied as a facial mask, or put in tea and consumed for stomach complaints. We are believe that a solution of sea cucumbers can heal cuts, skin eruptions, and ulcers, and claim that it has a beneficial effect on the immune system.
