Assalamualaikum~

here some interesting news that i have read yesterday. Tony Lepore is a now-retired Providence, Rhode Island police officer who first distinguished himself more than 20 years ago as a man who truly enjoys his work. while performing the often mundane task of directing traffic, he executed his duty with humor and style. Although he retired from active police work, he still works traffic as a retired police officer. Few jobs are as mundane, thankless, or dangerous as directing traffic. Motorists are often unwilling participants in a traffic scrum if a traffic cop is needed. The weather is often less than ideal, particularly in New England. And there is the constant risk of getting clipped by an inattentive motorist.i am happy that Officer Lepore didn't permanently hang-up his whistle when he retired from the police force. He encourages us to find joy in whatever it is we do. and having faithfully pursued joy, one's task becomes lighter; others are positively affected; and God is glorified.

For this entry I would like to share other tips to be a good friend....This are the tips :
- If you are somewhere where there is a celebrity, get an autograph for your friend.
- Make sure your friend doesn't have to spend a birthday alone. You can hold a party for them (even a surprise party if you can keep a secret) or take them out to dinner and pay for their meal.
- Have fun. It's not all about bleeding hearts and advice to the lovelorn - or at least, it shouldn't be. Decorate your friend's locker on his or her birthday, have a spa party, host a sleepover, whatever. Join activities with them.
- You don't have to spend a lot of money to be a good friend. The best gifts are often hand-made and come from the heart.
- Don't set too many expectations and rules. That's just trapping others in your dimension. Allowing your friendship to evolve and change naturally is really best - it allows your friend to be as unique and individual as you are, and for both of you to enjoy one another in that light.
- If someone is in any difficulty and he/she behaves in a way that's very hurtful to you, then don't be angry and try to understand their problems.

Try it!!!

Do you know the best foods to eat for a healthier body? One of my goals for 2009 is to eat healthier.

The eight best foods to eat everyday for better health!

1. Spinach
Spinach is a rich source of plant-based omega-3s and folate. It will help me reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and osteoporosis.

2. Yogurt
This one is pretty easy for me because I like to eat yogurt. Yogurt also helps to protect your system from cancer and cavities. I’d like to keep my own chompers to eat with when I get old.

3. Red Tomatoes
I can add tomatoes to my sandwich or salad, drink low-sodium V-8, or just slice one up and eat it by itself!

4. Carrots
Carotenoids are fat-soluble compounds that reduce the risk for a wide-range of cancers.

5. Blueberries
As I mentioned above, mixing blueberries into my morning yogurt or blending them into a fresh fruit smoothie for an afternoon treat is easy.

6. Black Beans
What to boost your brain power? Eat a half of cup of black beans a day! These jewels are loaded with anthocyanin which improves brain function. Black beans are also good for your heart.

7. Walnuts

8. Oats
Oats, like you find in oatmeal, have soluble fiber which reduces the risk of heart disease.

Recently,I've read about an article news entitled Woman in neighbour's ciku tree shot.It hapenned in Pekan. When Zainab Mohamath Ali, 54, accepted her neighbour's invitation to pluck and eat cikus from the latter's tree, little did she realise she would be shot. The woman had climbed up the tree at her neighbour's home in Kampung Paloh Hinai about 9.30am on Wednesday when her neighbour's husband came home.

Hearing the rustling of the leaves and not knowing that his wife had invited Zainab to pluck the fruits, the 68-year-old man grabbed his shotgun and fired once.
The shot hit Zainab in the abdomen and she fell from the tree.
She was rushed to the Tengku Afzan Hospital in Kuantan where her condition was listed as stable.

District police chief Superintendent Yahaya Othman said the man, a Rela member, was detained but released later after his statement was recorded.
He is being investigated for illegally discharging a firearm and faces a two-year jail term if charged and convicted. His gun licence would also be revoked.

Are you nervous when stand in front of public? You can't speak in front of them? Me too. But we can learn how to build some confident when we have to give a speech or public speaking in front. Here I got the tips. There are three basic things that you can do to ensure that your verbal messages are understood – and remembered – time and time again.

Although somewhat obvious and deceptively simple, these are:
* Understand the purpose of the presentation
* Keep the message clear and concise
* Be prepared
* Be vivid when delivering the message

Understand what you want to achieve

Before you start working on your talk or presentation, it's vital that you really understand what you want to say, who you want to tell and why they might want to hear it. To do this, ask yourself: Who? What? How? When? Where? Why?
Keep it simple

Keep it simple
When it comes to wording your message, less is more. You're giving your audience headlines. They don't need to and are usually not expecting to become experts on the subject as a result of hearing your talk.

If you're using slides, limit the content of each one to a few bullet points, or one statement or a very simple diagram
Be prepared

Be prepared
Preparation is underrated. In fact, it is one of the most important factors in determining your communication successes. When possible, set meeting times and speaking and presentation times well in advance, thus allowing yourself the time you need to prepare your communications, mindful of the entire communication process (source, encoding, channel, decoding, receiver, feedback and context). By paying close attention to each of these stages and preparing accordingly, you ensure your communications will be more effective and better understood.

Of course, not all communications can be scheduled. In this case, preparation may mean having a good, thorough understanding of the office goings-on, enabling you to communicate with the knowledge you need to be effective, both through verbal and written communications.

Water

Water is a common chemical substance that is essential for the survival of all known forms of life. In typical usage, water refers only to its liquid form or state, but the substance also has a solid state, ice, and a gaseous state, water vapor or steam. Water covers 71% of the Earth's surface. On Earth, it is found mostly in oceans and other large water bodies, with 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds (formed of solid and liquid water particles suspended in air), and precipitation. Saltwater oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds 0.6%. A very small amount of the Earth's water is contained within biological bodies and manufactured products. Other water is trapped in ice caps, glaciers, aquifers, or in lakes, sometimes providing fresh water for life on land.
Water moves continually through a cycle of evaporation or transpiration (evapotranspiration), precipitation, and runoff, usually reaching the sea. Winds carry water vapor over land at the same rate as runoff into the sea, about 1012kilograms per year. Over land, evaporation and transpiration contribute another 71 Tt per year to the precipitation of 107 Tt per year over land.
Clean, fresh drinking water is essential to human and other life. Access to safe drinking water has improved steadily and substantially over the last decades in almost every part of the world. However, some observers have estimated that by 2025 more than half of the world population will be facing water-based vulnerability, a situation which has been called a water crisis by the United Nations. Water plays an important role in the world economy, as it functions as a solvent for a wide variety of chemical substances and facilitates industrial cooling and transportation. Approximately 70 percent of freshwater is consumed by agriculture.

Popping a pimple will make it go away faster?

It is not encourage! The safest thing to do is apply blemish spot treatments that contain salicylic acid to the affected area which will dry the pimple out quickly, without the risk of scarring your skin by popping the pimple. If you really do consider popping a pimple, it must be one with a clearly defined area of secretion in the middle; don't just try to squeeze a red bump, which will only worsen the inflammation. If your skin tends to stay darkly pigmented long after a scratch or bug bite heels, it is better you try not to pop your pimples.

Advantages of Breastfeeding for mother and baby.

For mother:
1. Nursing immediately following delivery causes the uterus to contract lessening the risk of postpartum hemorrhage.

2. The uterus of a breastfeeding mother shrinks to its pre-pregnancy size more quickly.

3. Calories are burned while breastfeeding. It takes approximately 20 calories to produce an ounce of milk.

4. Women who nurse their babies for at least 6 months lessen their chances of pre-menopausal breast cancer.

5. Osteoporosis and cervical cancer are less common in women who breastfed.

6. The return of fertility is delayed with breastfeeding.

7. Breastfeeding is more economical than formula feeding. The cost of formula for 12 months is approximately $1000 - $1200.

8. Breast milk is always available, clean, and the right temperature.

9. Many mothers feel a special satisfaction in knowing that they alone are meeting the nutritional needs of their babies.

For baby:
1. Due to the anti-infective properties of breastmilk, breastfed babies tend to have less incidence of or less pronounced symptoms of ear infections, respiratory illness, allergies, diarrhea, and vomiting.

2. Due to the digestibility of breastmilk, breastfed babies are rarely constipated.

3. The stools of breastfed babies are mild-smelling.

4. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is less common in breastfed babies.

5. Breastmilk is constantly changing in its composition to meet the changing needs of the baby. It has the exact combination of protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and sugars needed for the human infant at various stages of his growth.

6. Breastfed babies are constantly exposed to a variety of tastes through their mother's milk.

7. Breastfed children are at less risk for chrohn's disease and juvenile diabetes.

8. Children who were breastfed are less likely to need orthodontic work such as braces due to the unique sucking action required with breastfeeding. They also seem to have better overall dental health than formula-fed children. Children who were breastfed need speech therapy less often than those who were bottle-fed.

9. IQ levels are an average of 8 points higher in children who were breastfed.

10. Adult daughters who were breastfed are at less risk for breast cancer.

11. Adults who were breastfed have a lower risk for high cholesterol and asthma.

12. The bond between mother and child seems to be enhanced with breastfeeding.

assalamualaikum and hai to everyone..have you ever heard about the snake??haha..most of us are familiar with this creatures..

let me explain more about this reptiles...Snakes are found in almost all corners of the world except Antarctica...snakes come in many shapes, sizes and colors, and their appearance reflects the environment in which they live...without legs, eyelids and external ears, they have still evolved into formidable hunters..

Smell seems to be a snake's best asset..the snake analyzes scents by flicking its long tongue into the air to gather scent molecules, which are then transferred to the Jacobson's organ located inside its mouth..some species, such as pit vipers, take advantage of organs on their face known as head pits to detect changes in temperature — another method that allows the snake to find its prey...

Killing prey can take many forms...some snakes use constriction..by wrapping its muscular body around its victim the snake can slowly suffocate and crush its prey..snakes have extremely flexible jaws and can swallow prey that is much larger than their head..the digestive juices slowly kill the victim..only about one in 10 snakes are venomous and within that group only a small proportion is a threat to humans..

Most snakes have adequate eyesight, allowing them to track movements...the exception are arboreal (tree-dwelling) snakes, which have binocular vision..these snakes can focus both eyes on the same point in order to make a precise attack..

Do you heard about that lose weight on fast food??? It’s real!!!
I read this from an article. It's all about portion control in this 1,500-calorie-a-day plan. I think all girls would love to drop some pounds, but it is tough to find time to breathe. That’s why people created a 1,500-calorie-a-day plan that lets you shed 10 pounds in five weeks, eating packaged meals, salad bar offerings and even fast food. Firstly, you should get fit quickly. You must follow the easy eating plan and also do a cardio workout five days a week to lose up to two pounds a week. Besides that, you can use your iPod to download a fresh cardio routine in an instant from a Web site like PodFitness.com. You also can choose an intense workout to maximize your calorie burn. This is also a good way to lose weight. On top of that, sneak three 10-minute walks into your day and be sure to make them vigorous. Do you hear about that walk for an hour is better than jogging for half an hour? So, you can do this on your way for lunch, for instance, or go to class. Lastly, the most important is how to suss out portions. For dressings, you can make an “OK” sign with your thumb and finger; that’s 1 tablespoon. Then for nuts, dried fruit, and cheese, it is only 4 to 5 playing dice equals about 1 and a half ounces. Next you can only have about 4 ounces for meats, chicken, and fish while there is only a serving the size of half a baseball is half cup for potatoes, pasta, and rice.

Do you all what does this mean? Did you all think about what you all want to get before you are doing some things. It is very important to decide what we want before we doing our work. Because this step can let us to be success or failure in our work. If we did not decide what we want, we might not get the starting point or even the ending point. Like that we just doing useless thing because the probability for us to get failure is very high. Because we do not know what we want and what can we do. After we have decided what we want, we can do a lot of things and we also can plan a lot of things to do to let our work success. After we know what we want to get, we will put more effort on it so that we really can get what we want. The decision also can be our motivation to make us move forward and make sure us won’t stuck at the same place. For me, I will decide what I want to get before I moved on my work. Because this make me feel confident inside myself. Here I want to remind you all and myself that we need to decide what we want as the first step when we are going to getting the things we want out of life.

Hello...Today I want to share for all of u about mandarin language. Mandarin is a category of related Chinese dialects spoken across most of northern and south-western China. When taken as a separate language, as is often done in academic literature, the Mandarin language has more native speakers than any other language. The "standard" in Standard Mandarin refers to the standard Beijing dialect of the Mandarin language. There are regional variations in Mandarin. This is manifested in two ways, that is the varieties of Mandarin cover a huge area containing nearly a billion people. As a result, there are pronounced regional variations in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar and standard Mandarin has been promoted very actively by the PRC, the ROC, and Singapore as a second language. Dialects of Mandarin agree with each other quite consistently on these pronouns, but not with other varieties of Chinese. Originally, written Chinese was learned and composed as a special language. It may originally have rather closely represented the way people spoke, but with time the spoken and written languages diverged rather strongly.

Today,I will share a short story. There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day, the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one."

Hi everybody..Today I want to post about the famous singer nowadays which is Lady Gaga. Are you all familiar with this name?? This is some of her background information. WHEN Lady Gaga was just a girl, she would sing along on her mini plastic tape recorder to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper hits. The precocious child would dance around the table at fancy Upper West Side New York restaurants using the breadsticks as a baton. And, she would innocently greet a new babysitter in her birthday suit. It’s no wonder that little girl from a good Italian New York family, turned into the exhibitionist, multi-talented singer-songwriter with a flair for theatrics that she is today: Lady Gaga. She is loath to give her real name, insisting friends and family refer to her only by her stage name but some digging reveals she was born Stefani Joanne Germanotta on the Upper West Side. Lady Gaga, 22, made a name for herself on the NY club scene with the infectious dance-pop party song Beautiful Dirty Rich, and wild, theatrical, and often tongue-in-cheek performances where Gaga — who designs and makes many of her stage outfits — would strip down to her hand-crafted hot pants and bikini top, light cans of hairspray on fire, and strike a pose as a disco ball lowered from the ceiling to the orchestral sounds of A Clockwork Orange. This is some about her I want to share with all of you..

Hello..here are some information about sleep..sleep is the natural state of bodily rest observed in humans and other animals. It is common to all mammals and birds, and is also seen in many reptiles, amphibians, and fish. In humans, other mammals, and a substantial majority of other animals that have been studied (such as some species of fish, birds, ants, and fruit flies), regular sleep is essential for survival.A widely publicized 2003 study performed at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine provided evidence that cognitive performance in humans declines with fewer than eight hours of sleep.

Blogging?? Do you like blogging?? I know about blog since I was in secondary school. But, I didn't actually know what it for. When I come to university, my lecturer asks us to make our own blog for her subject. At first, I feel it is so annoying. I think handing the paper is easier the posting in blog.
After I finished my first semester in University, I still don't have any idea for what I can do with my blog. After that, one of my friends gives me his address for his blog. When I read his blog, I feel like I'm reading a novel about a football series. This is because he writes about his favorite sport, football, and he is number one red supporter. He makes his blog title: The future is Red.
After that, I feel like I want to create a new blog. And I write all about myself there. It’s like my diary. I can say and write what I feel there. I also write some of my poem there. Sometimes when I read back my word, I feel it is like a fairy tale (but I don't know it will be happy ending or not)
Turn my life into blog, it's actually kinda funny, because sometimes I also can’t show very much of what the real life. As my blog is my property, and just create it for me, not for other to view. Still, still I need to mind my words.
What I can say, I'm happy turning my life into blog. I feel I have something to do with my life. And I always try to make my life better and happy so that I will have nice story in my blog.

HI...
i would like to tell you about number one squash player in the worlds..

Nicol Ann David (Datuk Nicol Ann David, DSPN)[5] (born August 26, 1983 in Penang, Malaysia) is a Malaysian professional squash player. She is currently the World No. 1 in women's squash (she is the first Asian woman to be ranked World No. 1 in the sport). She captured the World Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008, and the British Open title in 2005, 2006 and 2008.
Nicol David is the first squash player to have won the World Junior title twice (1999 and 2000) under the tutelage of Richard Glanfield. She remained the only female squash player to have achieved this, until Raneem El Weleily emulated David's feat by winning her second World Junior Championship in 2007. Nicol moved inexorably up the senior rankings to become a fixture in the top flight. At a very young age, she has been invited to carry the Olympic torch for Malaysia during the build up to the Athens Olympics in 2004 and being appointed a UN goodwill ambassador.
On December 4, 2005, Nicol beat Rachael Grinham in the final of the Hong Kong World Open to become the youngest world champion. She then defended her title on November 25, 2006, at the historic Ulster Hall in Belfast by beating Natalie Grinham in the final. She became the first Malaysian athlete to win a world championship title for the 2nd consecutive time, and the fourth person in history to retain the World Open Squash Championship.
Nicol David's other notable achievements include the Asian squash championship, which she won with a record of six times (in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008). She also held a 13-month, 51-match winning streak, from March 2006 to April 2007 when she finally lost to Natalie Grinham in the final of the 2007 Seoul Open. In today's standard of professional squash, which is regarded by many as being much more competitive than what it was decades ago, having a winning streak comparable to this is an achievement not easily obtainable.
Nicol has risen in name after her near total dominance of the game in recent years. The Current Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, a fellow Penangite, quipped once that David is "now more famous than me". Considering her young age, she is expected to remain the top female player in the game for a while to come.

HELLO EVERYONE....now i want talk about eat right without thinking.
this a tactics that will get you started on your weight-loss plan and then help you stick to it. Soon enough, your diet will simply become the way you eat.
1. Always eat dessert-A small amount can signal that the meal is over.
2. Get help from a paper napkin-You can use it to blot a teaspoon of fat off a pizza slice. That may not sound like a lot, but multiply it by a slice a week, and that's more than a whole cup of fat you won't eat or wear this year.
3. Take the beltway-When junk food beckons, tighten your belt a notch. Not so you can't breathe, but so you have a gentle reminder of the size you'd like to be.
4. Eat a snack at 3 p.m., no matter what.Have a 150-calorie snack [now], and it can save you 400 calories later. An ounce of nuts or two sticks of string cheese weigh in at about 170 calories.
5. Go out for ice cream. Or an eclair. Or even guacamole and chips. Just go out. Don't keep your danger foods in the house. You can't eat half of a carton of ice cream that's not there in the first place.

this tip will help you loss your weight.

Tooth-friendly foods. To get foods with tooth-friendly, we have to choose a wide variety of healthy foods every day. Then, we have to finish our meal with a drink of water. This washes your teeth and mouth. Besides that, choose tap water as a drink. It is tooth-friendly and your body likes it too. Don't have lots of fizzy drinks especially ones that contain sugars and acids. These can cause tooth decay. Bottled water is not so good for teeth. It does not have fluoride in it. Furthermore, where possible choose medicines and cough lollies that are sugar free. Milk and cheese are tooth-friendly foods. They contain minerals, which will help to repair tooth enamel. If you want to know more about healthy food look up 'Your Food' on this site. A variety of foods is best for your teeth.

Why does Mickey Mouse have four fingers? Do you know who Mickey Mouse is? I bet all of you know who is Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse has four fingers because it is convenient for the artists and animators who have drawn him. In the early cartoons, each frame was hand-drawn by an animator. No part of the human anatomy is harder to draw than a hand, and it is particularly difficult to draw distinct fingers without making the whole hand look disproportionately large. The artists who drew Mickey were more than happy to go along with any conceit that saved them some work. So in Disney and most other cartoons, the animals sport a thumb and three fingers, while humans, such as Snow White and Cinderella, are spared the amputation.

Till now, I cannot find anything interesting or anything to look forward to in university. My cousin kept on preaching on how university life is that interesting and any other else. Is it because of me or others think the same way as I do?

When I asked my room mates, some of them quite agree, because, unlike private universities, public ones get harder stuffs and timetable packed with classes. A friend of mine from Lim Kok Wing and CenFad said that my schedule is just exactly like a high schooler's. Yes, I would agree with his thinking.

I'd really wish that the teaching system would change for the public universities. Students are more unwilling to attend extra classes when the schedule is tight.
