A mermaid is a mythological aquatic creature that is half human, half aquatic creature (e.g. a fish or dolphin). Various cultures throughout the world have similar figures. The word is a compound of mere, the Old English word for "sea," and maid, which has retained its original sense.

Much like sirens, mermaids would sometimes sing to sailors and enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing them to walk off the deck or cause shipwrecks. Other stories would have them squeeze the life out of drowning men while trying to rescue them. They are also said to take them down to their underwater kingdoms. In Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid it is said that they forget that humans cannot breathe underwater, while others say they drown men out of spite.

The sirens of Greek mythology are sometimes portrayed in later folklore as mermaid-like; in fact, some languages (such as the Maltese word 'sirena') use the same word for both bird and fish creatures. Other related types of mythical or legendary creature are water fairies (e.g. various water nymphs) and selkies, animals that can transform themselves from seals to humans.

COMMENT :
This is just a brief on what i've read. Mermaid, a legendary being. Before i read this article, i thought mermaid are just simple being which take the form fish and human. But after reading this article, i've just come to know that there are so many legends about mermaid. which really do impressed me. Nothing much that can be said about god creations. Some do believe there are mermaids and some say it's just a myth. Believe it or not? I do.

For more details on what i have read, this is the url.

Assalammualaikum.
I want to talk about why college students need a car?We can see so many students in UMP use car as main transport.

First of all college classes aren't in one building such as in high school. Depending on how big campus is, the classes you have may be in the opposite ends.
Last but not least, getting a car is what will make you feel more mature & more aware of the responsibilites you have as a college student. When i didn't have a car i felt like i was still a kid who does whatever my parents tell me. but when i got a car this semester, i finally felt like an adult & it helped me academically as well.

Thank you.

I just read an article about reading is the key to championship. The article is about a champion from RHD-New Straits Times spell-it-right challenge.

The champion of this challenge is Pang Zheng Bin. His father and mother told us what Zheng Bin likes to reading books since he was child.

When he pick up a book whether English, Mandarin or Malay he will continue his reading without any disturbing.Zheng Bin's english is not really fluent, but he tried very hard to success.

He also learn English with reading books and also playing games. The English book that he like to read is readers digest. Many knowledge that he found from that book.

We can learn how to be a champion from this article. We also can use it as knowledge in our life.

thank you..

She said that she did not miss any tuition classes and group studies which the school organised as she could not afford to take private tuition with her parents small income. Her father is a fisherman and her mother is a cleaner.

Her results were announced by state Islamic Development, Education and Dakwah Committee chairman Mohd Amar Abdullah at the school yesterday.

Assalamualaikum and good day to all of you. Hmm..most of us are crazy about diet. All kind of methods you have done but nothing works. So, how about you try this method? Diet following your blood type. It sounds interesting but I do not know whether it works or not. About this diet, if you are an ‘A’ type, you have a sensitive digestion system and should reduce in taking milk product and meat. It is better to be a vegetarian. This person needs to exercise and have enough rest. For ‘B’ type, you should drink milk in large quantity and vegetables to increase body immunity due to tendency in getting illness. Examples of appropriate exercises are swimming, walking and play tennis. While for ‘AB’ type, you have to take food in small quantity but often. Also do exercises before going to class or office. In other hand, ‘o’ type has higher body immunity than the other types and easy in digesting food. You should take high protein and low carbohydrate products. Do aerobics to maintain good body shapes. Try it yourself and enjoy. Thank you.

Cheers to all,
Feeling frustrated, emotional, tired! Normal emotions mixture a student faces. I sometimes feel bored and exaggerated to be a student. Too much of work load can make us feel lost of interest. Everything seems to be not interesting. Continuous lab assessment, quizzes and tests which makes us go haywire. Besides that, the internet accessibility around the campus is really bad. When it’s urgent that’s when the connection will be low. How would you feel that moment? Need to submit assignments as well blogs. Important information need to be searched at the web pages. These things make me to get into my nerves. I think most of the students would share the same feeling. In addition, hostel environment which is no easier like in the prominent varsities. This is because of the poor cleanliness and overcrowding. We do face no water supply. This makes us run up and down on certain days looking for water availability in different blocks. Finally we’ll be late to enter class. This routine life is worse still than working life. Maybe my assumption might be wrong. But as far as I am here in UMP life seems to be tougher comparatively my other friends in other universities. Anyhow I would still adjust and keep myself adaptive to this environment like my friends around here do.
Regards

What is blogging?
All right,a blog is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketches (sketchblog), videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting), which are part of a wider network of social media.

Assalamualaikum and very good evening..

While i try to get a topic that i want to say. I found this articel and I think it is good and I hope all can read it.It is about the differences about ego and the personality.

Silent Cobra has the right idea. The ego protects us from what we don't fully understand. It serves as a curtain pulled over our eyes to "blind" us to knowledge we are not yet ready to face. The ego processes reality and twists it to an acceptable level at which we can live. That's why we are often in conflict because often something in reality does not agree with our ego's reality.

Personality is heavily influenced in its development by the guidelines set by the ego, which is also adaptable to given circumstances to keep that curtain over our eyes. If we have too much ego and not enough personality, we will perceived to be full of "hot air," a small person who will do many petty things to validate their ego and their very shallow personality. If we have too personality and not enough of the other, then we will be more vulnerable, whether through influence or outright manipulation. Thus, there is often a conflicting relationship between ego and personality in which both try to reach a resolution, at least a temporary one.

Consumer behavior is based on these two concepts on a SOCIETAL level. They like to have egos rubbed (validated) and, at the same time, have the opportunity to express their personality catered to their own personal level. This way, they are free to express themselves as much as they can without feeling self-conscious.

So yes, men tend to, more often than not, buy objects to reinforce their ego, to validate their personality status, esp. men who feel they are alpha-male. They then feel safe, after the ego takes the forefront, to display their personality in the background, thereby showing vulnerability at a lesser level.

Women, who tend to express feelings more often, and would buy objects to display their personality. So long as their personalities are confirmed in the public eye, their ego, which often takes the background, is also validated through this acceptance.

So, to sum it up, men tend to seek ways to validate their egos first, which would then allow them to have their own personality accepted by society while women tend to find ways to reinforce their personalities, through which their egos are satisfied.

Just keep this relationship between ego and personality in society determining consumer behavior.

and from this we can conclude that int his world every people have their ego, not only the guys but the girls also.

HYE!!!!
To become a good student, we need to get motivated. Motivation can come from seeing the situation of many poor children around the world who are not lucky enough to get a proper education. Keep that in mind when we don't want to attend class or study at home. Another reason to get motivated to study is that we will enjoy a better quality of life as an educated person. We can go to educational websites, like this, and surf them with interest. We must not force ourself to study, for this will make learning a chore and we'll not feel like even opening your books. We will have many academically good students in our courses. Try becoming friends with them , and we'll be immersed in an academic environment which will help we feel motivated.

Above all, we need confidence. For that, we need to feel that we are working for ourselves and not for others. That's all....

Well today i would like to share a tory from my reading lately . I'm sure that you have see the swan lake story from barbie version and hope you enjoy read it the real story once again .

Prince Siegfried arrives at his 21st birthday celebration on the palace to find all of the royal families and townspeople dancing and celebrating.

During the exquisite celebration, his mother gives him crossbow and informs him that because he is of age now, his marriage will be arranged. with the sudden realization of his future responsibilities, he takes his crossbow and makes haste to the woods with his hunting buddies.

Getting ahead of the group, Prince Siegfried finds himself a peaceful spot by an enchanted lake where swans gently float across its surface. While Siegfried watches, he spots the most beautiful swan with a crown on its head. His buddies soon catch up, but he orders them to leave so he can be by himself. As dusk falls, the swan with the crown turns into the most beautiful young woman he has ever seen. Her name is Odette, the Swan Queen. She informs the young prince that an evil sorcerer, Von Rothbart, who so happens to be disguised as Prince Siegfried’s mentor, has turned her and the other girls into swans and that the lake was formed by the tears of their parents' weeping. She tells him that the only way the spell could be broken is if a man, pure in heart, pledges his love to her.

The Prince, about to confess his love for her, is quickly interrupted by the evil sorcerer. He takes Odette from Prince Siegfried’s embrace and commands all of the swan maidens to dance upon the lake and its shore so that the prince cannot chase them.

Prince Siegfried is left all alone on the shore of Swan Lake. The next day at the formal celebration in the Royal Hall, Prince Siegfried is presented with many prospective princesses. Although the princesses are worthy of his attention, he cannot stop thinking about Odette. His mother commands him to choose a bride, but he cannot. For the mean time, he satisfies his mother's request by at least dancing with them.

While the prince is dancing, trumpets announce the arrival of Von Rothbart. He brings his daughter, Odile, on whom he has cast a spell to appear as Odette. The prince is captivated by her beauty as he dances with the imposter. Unbeknownst to Prince Siegfried, the true Odette is watching him from a window. The prince soon confesses his love to Odile, thinking that she is Odette. To Odette’s horror, she flees into the night. Prince Siegfried sees the real Odette fleeing from the window and realizes his mistake. Upon his realization, Von Rothbart reveals to the prince the true appearance of his daughter Odile.

Prince Siegfried quickly leaves the party and chases after Odette.
Odette has fled back to the lake and joined the rest of the girls in sadness. Prince Siegfried finds them gathered at the shore consoling each other. He explains to Odette the trickery of Von Rothbart and she grants him her forgiveness. It isn’t long before when Von Rothbart and Odile appear in their evil, un-human, somewhat bird like forms. Von Rothbart tells the prince that he must stick to his word and marry his daughter. A fight quickly follows. Prince Siegfried tells Von Rothbart that he would rather die with Odette than to marry Odile. He then takes Odette’s hand and together they jump into the lake. The spell is broken and the remaining swans turn back into humans. They quickly drive Von Rothbart and Odile into the water where they, too, drown. The girls watch the spirits of Prince Siegfried and Odette ascend into the heavens above Swan Lake.
Then the end of the beautiful story.

Have you ever thought of death? Things about dying are so taboo in our society. Death.. one word that never failed to send shivers down through my spine. I think about death for most of the time. It is so hard to say that i’m not afraid of dying. I do afraid of dying. So afraid that sometimes it makes me wonder when i’m going to die, and how i am going to die. So afraid that sometimes it makes me feel like my life has no purpose at all. My existence on this world is just a waste. No matter what we do, eventually, every person that we know, every individual that we loved, they are going to be taken away from us, one by one. Sometimes, i wonder, am i going to make it through my sixties? Am i going to make it to see my grandchildren growing up? I don’t know. It’s a GOD’s thing. I have a friend. He died in car accident about a month ago. Same age with me. When i first heard the news, i’m speechless. We studied together during our secondary studies. And we used to play rugby together too together back then. Me and him, we kind of close, if the word ‘close’ means sitting together with your friend and not felling awkward at all. I used to call him ‘BIG BUTT’, of course because his butt is bigger than all of us. And he used to call me ‘BELLY’, because i have abs that could make people drool over me, even guys. Sorry, i’m just playing. Back to my friend, it is so shocking to me that he had to go at this age. This incident made me thinking a lot. If this thing could happen to my friend, there are possibilities it might happen to us too, to me...

Assalamualaikum to everybody.I hope all of you are in the best of health. For this session, I want to talk about the most important thing in our daily live which is called a water.

Water is the most abundant molecule on Earth's surface, constituting about 70% of the Earth's surface in liquid, solid, and gaseous states. It is in dynamic equilibrium between the liquid and gas states at standard temperature and pressure.

At room temperature, it is a nearly colorless, tasteless, and odorless liquid. Many substances dissolve in water and it is commonly referred to as the universal solvent.Because of this, water in nature and in use is rarely pure, and may have some properties different from those in the laboratory.

Hai!!!Meet again for 'the ways to be a good friends'...To be a good friend you have to 4. Be respectful. Know the boundaries. Things you and your friend discuss should be treated with care - your friend is not sharing this information with just anyone, and may not want to. She shared it with you - and only you, as far as you know. Example: If your friend doesn't want to name her crush, don't push her into it. If she has named her crush, don't tell anyone else. This is just common courtesy anyone and everyone deserves the expectation that you will keep confidences.Then,5. Watch out for your friend. If you sense that s/he is getting drunk at a party, help him or her to get away from the alcohol. Don't allow your friend to drive drunk - take his or her keys and/or drive your friend home personally. If your friend begins talking about running away or committing suicide, tell someone about it. This rule overrides the "respect privacy" step, because even if your friend begs you not to tell anyone, you should do it anyway. Suggest a help line or professional to your friend. Talk to your and your friend's parents or spouse first (unless they are the ones causing the problems) before involving anyone else.On other hand,6. Pitch in for friends during times of crisis. If your friend has to go to the hospital, you could help pack his or her bags; if her/his dog runs away, help to find it, if he/she needs someone to pick him/her up, be there. Take notes for your friend in school and give them their homework assignments when they're absent and sick at home. Send cards and care packages. If there is a death in his/her family, you might want to attend the funeral or cook dinner for them. Care about your friend enough to help him or her open up and let tears roll. Give them a tissue and listen. You don't have to say anything, just be with them...
Goodluck!
